NEW YORKApril 15, 2016 – Chairman of LDJ Capital  David Drake  appoints Alejandro Vargas as Managing Director of LDJ Capital. Vargas is an international business lawyer with extensive expertise in closing and managing businesses, structuring and business development in Europe, USA and Latin America.

Alejandro Vargas has more than 25 years of experience as an international business and corporate lawyer. Vargas has structured, closed and managed businesses/transactions in different sectors including corporate finance, telecommunications, mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity, real estate and energy. He is currently the Distribution and Business Development Consultant for Latin America at Highland Capital Management LP, which is one of the largest global alternative credit asset managers with over US$22 billion in AUM. He says, “I am pleased to be able to contribute my extensive experience to LDJ Capital and form part of its team. There  are many business development opportunities in all sectors of the economy, both locally and  globally. From 1994 to 2005, he served as a member of the Board of Directors in all international subsidiaries of Entel Chile SA, the biggest telecom company in Chile. He also held the position of Entel’s Corporate International Chief Legal Officer. He  was the  President and Partner of LATAM at Crescent Asset Management from 2006 until 2010.

Vargas has maintained a strong connection with the biggest family offices, high net worth individuals, business groups, top tier local law firms, pension funds, government authorities and local regulators all over Latin America. He has a Certificate in Management Development from Harvard Business School and received his Law Degree (JD equivalent) from the Catholic University of Chile.
