NEW YORK – Nov. 26, 2015 – LDJ Capital, The Soho Loft Media Group and Victoria Global supported the Opal Group Exchange event which took place on the 12th and 13th of October this year in Monte Carlo.

Institutional Investors such as endowments, funds of funds and foundations, manager of hedge funds, equity managers and financial institutions as well as service providers converged at Fairmont, Monte Carlo  for the 2015 Opal Exchange event in Monaco. The Exchange event facilitated purposeful private meetings between investment managers and private wealth as well as institutional investors. This created opportunities for attendees to develop linkages with those of similar investment goals.

According to David Drake, Chairman of LDJ Capital, “Opal Exchanges provide great platforms for institutional investors to connect with investment managers and have purposeful discussions on how they can enhance each other’s capabilities. The online automation of private offerings is silently exploding and is the mega trend for 2016.  Private offerings can finally be advertised under the JOBS act  and this is the 2016 revolution in the US.  We built this platform solution for Prudential 7 years too early.  Meanwhile,  the broker community is racing to create the Etrade and Schwab of online investment automation to the 8,700,000 accredited Americans and about 213 million non-accredited investors in the US.  These are pertinent topics that family offices are now discussing.”

The Opal Exchange Monaco event featured panel discussions, meeting exchanges, cocktail receptions and roundtable activities. The event kicked off with a keynote speech delivered by Opal Group’s Chairman Deepak Lalwani. After the keynote address, attendees participated in meetings and in a panel discussion on the topic, ‘Investing in Real Assets’. The meetings took place between event attendees who had  been paired up prior to  the conference based on their investment profiles. Attendees who have mutual investment interests held private meetings that lasted about 25 minutes each. Meeting exchanges continued on day two with attendees also getting an opportunity to participate in another panel discussion entitled ‘Geopolitical Roundtable’. At the end of the day, event attendees networked over cocktail receptions and presentations by the keynote speaker.
